Last Saturday was another productive day of testing. This time i worked with food stylist and expert pasta cook Rosie Mackean. Together we developed a brief for shooting a range of delicious pasta dishes. After establishing our vision we presented our brief to Prop Stylist Faye Wears, who then used her visual brilliance to pick out some beautiful props for us to use. It’s a shoot that we had planned way back in October but have had to put on the back burner for awhile as we’ve all been preoccupied with paid work. I guess thats the curse of the freelancer. When paid work comes along, you have to do it.
The shoot itself was great fun. It was a super chilled atmosphere and i think that was really important because we had an action packed day in store! We shot 4 recipe shots, 8 step shots and a few incidentals shots throughout the day. We started with step shots and incidental shots and set ourselves a time scale for the day. It was important to us that we didn’t spend too long on step shots. We really wanted to dedicate at least 90 mins to each recipe shot as these were the shots the most amount of planning went in to.
The shoot went really well. We shot everything we wanted to shoot and were all really pleased with the images. Heres a glimpse at what we produced:
