This is one of the first recipes I discovered when I turned Paleo and it is one that has stayed with me all this time so I thought it would be great to share it with you guys! It is one of my to go recipes that I will happily eat 3 or 4 times a week! There is a slight side note though – It is really important to use good quality wild salmon. A lot of people fall in to the trap of buying farmed salmon because it is cheaper and I can’t stress enough how toxic farmed salmon is for you. Always opt for Wild Salmon. This recipe is super simple to make, its super healthy and its delicious! I like to serve this with a potato, broccoli and cauliflower mash.

Ingredients

2 Wild Sockeye Salmon Fillets
-
1 Ripe Avocado
-
1 hand full of Basil leaves
-
Mixed Herbs
-
1 Lemon
Directions
-
In a blender blitz the Avocado, Basil Leaves, Mixed Herbs and Juice of a Lemon

Evenly spread the dressing on to the Salmon Fillets

Cook for 12 minutes at 160 degrees in the oven

Place under the grill for a couple of minutes until the dressing has lightly browned

Yum yum yum! I’m interested as to any changes you’ve felt/seen after switching to a paleo diet. I’m always interested to learn more about diets that aren’t very common in the everyday world! And by the way, I definitely agree with you about picking top-quality salmon. Salmon is such a great source of healthy fats and protein, but you need to find the right one. Since switching to paleo, i have lost a load of weight and noticed increased energy levels. Those are the two most noticeable things – but it’s also taught me to be really mindful about what i am eating. Although paleo is a great place to start, i don’t believe it is the absolute answer. I think its important to eat the right diet for you, take in a maximum amount of nutrients and be able to sustain it. I would say my diet is more paleo inspired these days. It’s just really important to listen to what your body wants xx
